So, what’s in the bag today?
Crime: That crazy video we couldn’t avoid on our timeline? Yeah. It didn’t end in comments.
National: When you hear your name might be crossed out… and nobody even called you first.
Politics: When even the “Thank You” tour needed a referee. The party is on its way to falling apart.
Crime: Turns out extradition doesn’t sprint; it strolls, stops for snacks, then maybe continues.
Education: Ahanta is leveling up from ‘spoken at home’ to ‘official school subject.’
Fact of the Day: Female mosquitoes do the biting. Fr!
Crime: So, there’s this 54-year-old farmer, who tried to switch up his game from farm tools to car sales. Well, he is now in police custody.
Crime: When NAIMOS shows up, illegal miners don’t stick around; they swim away and leave their gear.

So remember that disturbing video of a guy assaulting a woman that hijacked everyone’s timeline? Yeah. The guy in it, Ekow Black is now with the police. At first, it felt like one of those ugly internet moments that burn hot for two days and then disappear under memes. But this one refused to behave. Instead of fading, it grew legs. Turns out the assault video wasn’t the full story. Police say there are fresh allegations on top. Threats. Pressure. Sextortion. So now, Ekow Black has traded comments sections for court dates. A judge has ordered him to stay in police custody while investigations continue. Read more

You know those family meetings where everyone says “we’re fine” but nobody is actually fine? That’s the energy here. Smiles on the outside, receipts in the pockets. This week, Byran Acheampong basically said, “Let’s not lie to ourselves.” Get the full deets in the Deep Dive section.
So imagine waking up and finding out people are debating whether you should still be in the group chat without adding you to the conversation. That’s the mood at the Ghana Bar Association right now. Get the 411 in the Deep Dive section below

You know how someone says “I’m on my way” but you know deep down that’s a lie? That’s extradition right now. International lawyer Victoria Bright has basically told everyone to breathe. This thing with former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and the convicted former MASLOC Chief Executive, Sedina Tamakloe-Attinou ? It’s not tomorrow. It’s not next month. It’s “see you in like… three years.” Bottom line? Justice grinds slowly. Read more
FACT OF THE DAY

Only female mosquitoes bite you.
Only female mosquitoes bite us because the required nutrition from their victim’s blood is needed to develop their eggs. Male mosquitoes feed on the nectar of flowers.
So, the Bureau of Ghana Languages just said, “Yeah, Ahanta language is legit for schools now.” They checked out how schools in Ahanta land have been teaching it in pilot programs, and apparently, everyone’s loving it; teachers, students, even the elders are giving it thumbs up. This means soon kids in Ahanta land will be learning Ahanta in class like English or Math, and the language will even be in exams. Read more

This dude, Raphael, is scrolling through Jiji, spots an ad for a fresh Hyundai Tucson 4x4 and calls the number. He’s told the guy on the line is just the agent, but the real plug is Richmond, a ‘farmer-turned-car-salesman.’ Raphael sends his friend to check out the ride first. Friend gives the thumbs up, so Raphael meets Richmond at Amasaman Government Hospital. Richmond and his alleged brother hand over some documents that look legit enough, and boom, Raphael drops 110K cedis. Now, while heading to see the car, the ‘brother’ decides to jump out of the taxi mid-traffic and yeets with the ignition key. Like, excuse me? Turns out, the documents were also fake. Police started watching Richmond closely after a similar scam popped up in Achiaman, and eventually, they caught him. So now, Richmond is locked up, denying everything. Read more
Galamsey miners were actually mining inside the Birim River. Like, swimming and digging for gold in the water. Then NAIMOS and Blue Water Guards just rolled up, caught them slipping, and burnt their machines right there. Three foreign guys too got arrested. At another spot, miners saw the cops coming and ran like Usain Bolt. But NAIMOS still destroyed their stuff. Now they’re even getting speed boats and life jackets to keep these galamsey boys from turning the river into their personal gold mine. We hope for the best. Read more

Invite Revoked!
The Constitution Review Committee casually suggested removing the Ghana Bar Association from the Constitution, and the lawyers said, “hold on… since when?”
According to Former GBA boss Yaw Acheampong Boafo, nobody who actually works with the GBA has complained. Not the Police Council. Not Immigration. Not Judicial Council. Nobody. So the big question he’s asking is: if nobody’s beefing us, who sent you?
And then he zooms out and points fingers at politics. He says this whole thing smells less like reform and more like party pepper. In his words, the complaints didn’t come from institutions, but from openly partisan lawyers. And somehow, that was enough for the committee to say, “hmm, valid.”
He reminds everyone that even Rawlings who famously didn’t always see eye to eye with the GBA still kept them in the Constitution. So if even your historical opp kept you on the team, why are you suddenly being benched now? Read more
The Party Bus has Issues
So Byran Acheampong stood in front of party people and asked the kind of question that makes the room quiet. Like, if Kennedy wins, will Bawumia’s side really clap? Or will they suddenly develop back pain and travel plans? Then he flipped it. Same silence. Same side-eyes.
The wildest part? He reminded everyone that even after losing the last election, peace still refused to locate them. A whole Thank You tour couldn’t survive because people were fighting on the bus. Imagine saying “thank you” while dropping people mid-journey. That’s not unity, that’s Carpool energy.
So now the message is clear: this isn’t about who’s popular, it’s about who can stop the house from shaking. Because if your party can’t survive a bus ride, how are you planning to survive four years in power? Just asking. Read more
