  • Lord Mensah, who should’ve been zooming around delivering packages, decided to use his bike for a different kind of delivery—a robbery. He and his crew rolled up to a cosmetic shop in La, armed with jackknives, and did the whole “give us your stuff or else” routine. Turns out, Mensah’s “escape plan” was a bit of a fail. He managed to swap the bike’s plates like he was changing outfits but ended up crashing and injuring himself. Talk about adding insult to injury. He tried to dodge the law by pleading with the judge to let him go, but no dice. Instead, he’s off to serve a ten-year sentence, leaving his family and baby behind. Read more

  • You’ve planned the biggest party of the year. Then on the d-day, the caterer tells you they thought the party was next week. According to Agric Minister Bryan Acheampong, Mother Nature’s decision to remix the seasons, pushing the planting period back by a whole month is the real problem the farmers are facing. The Ghana Meteorological Agency did send out a heads-up, but it seems like the memo got lost somewhere between “urgent” and “meh.” So, all the seeds, fertilizers, and top-tier farming vibes we invested in? Yeah, they kinda went to waste. Acheampong’s got a plan though. Guess what? IRRIGATION! Read more

  • Ghana’s Ministry of Finance is on a mission to drop 36 new Double Taxation Agreements, which is kind of like getting an upgrade on your tax life – but with more paperwork. These agreements are meant to save companies from paying tax twice on the same income. Sounds cool, but it’s still a bit of a waiting game to see which ones actually get the green light. Some are waiting for Parliament’s stamp of approval, others are still in negotiation, and some are just chilling, waiting to be signed. But only people who are “residents” of Ghana or the treaty partner country get the sweet benefits. So, if you’re a digital nomad just passing through, you might need to sit this one out. Read more

Apologise or else…

So, Abuakwa South MP Samuel Atta Akyea decided to spice things up at a rally by calling Mahama a “drunkard”. The NDC isn’t having any of it, and they’ve stepped in with all the smoke.

Fifi Fiavi Kwetey from the NDC is coming in hot, saying Atta Akyea’s comments are not just out of line but totally cringe. It’s like someone spreading rumors about you on the ‘gram – it’s messy, unnecessary, and totally out of bounds. Kwetey’s stressing that Mahama’s a stand-up guy who’s all about lifting Ghana up, not downing pints.

The NDC’s throwing down the challenge, demanding an apology. They’re not here for any drama and are ready to pull out the receipts if Atta Akyea doesn’t backtrack. They want the campaign to focus on real issues and not petty squabbles. Read more

Akufo-Addo’s been cruising through his term, dealing with all kinds of craziness like the pandemic and economic hiccups. He’s like, “I’ve tried my best, and if you thought I was something, wait till you see Bawumia.”

He’s also giving props to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, aka NAPO, who’s apparently the sidekick everyone’s chatting about in Kumasi.

So, Nana Addo’s doing his best “passing the torch” impression, and it’s up to us to see if Bawumia’s up for the challenge. Read more
