The BoG’s T-bill rates are dropping like your phone’s battery at 2% – super good news, but if we’re not careful, the cedi might go off like a phone alarm, blaring all over the place. Dr. Asiamah is on it, making sure the currency stays chill while rates dip. In short, the central bank’s got a plan (we hope so), and it’s all about keeping that cedi in check while we enjoy the sweet deals of lower T-bill rates. Read more

Our girl Gifty Oware-Mensah is out here living her best life, and guess what? Not one security agency has hounded her for questioning. Her lawyer, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, made it crystal clear that Gifty hasn’t been “summoned” by the NIB or any other squad. Apparently, after some wild rumors about her fleeing the country like she’s in some spy movie, they had to write to the agency just to say, “Nah, she’s chill.” Read more

16 assemblymen are demanding sanctions for alleged kidnapping and torture by NDC execs, calling out Unas Owusu and crew for some Rambo-style shenanigans. They’ve filed a petition demanding accountability to save the party’s rep, with hints of a similar mess back in 2022. Want the deets in full? Check out the Deep Dive section.

Engage Now Africa (ENA) and Ensign Global University just threw down an epic seminar on human trafficking. They gathered 57 sharp minds (37 in person, 20 online) to learn how to spot shady trafficking moves, so no one gets played like an old mixtape. They schooled everyone on the warning signs of trafficking and shared pro tips on how public health pros can turn a “nope” into a “we got you” for victims. Public health folks are our frontline heroes in this fight. These docs are the first to spot when someone’s off. Read more
FACT OF THE DAY

Dueling is legal in Paraguay, only on the condition that both participants are registered blood donors.
The government just dropped the mic on the Ghana School Feeding Programme by axing the contracts of all its regional and zonal coordinators. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, our GSFP boss lady, announced on March 4 that all these folks are out, with a “thanks for your service” note that barely spills the tea on why they got canned. If you ask us though we’ll say this is happening against a backdrop of funding drama, alleged corruption, and unpaid arrears. But what do we know? Read more
An 18-year-old in Adugyama thought he was in an action movie, allegedly shooting an Okada rider, grabbing the motorbike, and zooming off like he had a five-star wanted level. But guess what? Karma had other plans. Dude didn’t even get far; he crashed! Yep, tried to make a grand escape, only to end up needing first aid instead. He was rushed to Mankranso Hospital, but that’s when things got even hotter. A squad of furious Okada riders pulled up, ready to serve their own kind of justice. Thankfully, the police stepped in before things went full Fast & Furious: Adugyama Drift. Now, the teen is in police custody, probably realizing that real life isn’t like the video games. Read more
Sekondi Nursing and Midwifery Training College just said, “We’re not just a school; we’re a whole university in the making!” Established in 1954, this institution has been churning out top-tier nurses and midwives, but now they’re eyeing the big leagues, an autonomous university status. To make this happen, they’re rolling out four new programmes, including Critical Care Nursing and BSc Midwifery. Accreditation? Already in the bag. Launch date? September 2025.
But hold up, there’s a plot twist. The school is facing some serious infrastructural wahala: not enough lecture halls, accommodation shortages, and roads rougher than a bad breakup. Plus, land encroachers are moving mad. The Principal, Culbert Nuolabong, is basically saying, “No land, no university.” The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, got the full gist during his visit. Now, it’s just a matter of securing the right resources to make this medical glow-up a reality. Read more
DEEP DIVE
Execs face the heat, party’s on fire!
In Bono East, the NDC’s got some major drama – think “Real Politicians of Ghana” but with way more controversy. A squad of 16 assemblymen from Kintampo South are throwing down hard, demanding that regional boss Unas Owusu and three of his homies get hit with some serious sanctions for allegedly kidnapping and torturing a party member named Alfred “Tutu” Agandaah.
They’re calling for accountability, insisting that if the party’s leadership can’t get its act together, then the whole squad is doomed to be a hot mess express. And, trust, they’re not about to let this slide without a major clampdown.
Even though Unas Owusu is like, “I ain’t got time for this nonsense,” the assemblymen are dead serious. They’re saying, “Yo, if you keep playing these games, the party’s gonna be toast!” They want the big wigs to step in, and make sure no one in the party can just act like they’re in a street fight without consequences.
Meanwhile, the whole thing has everyone in the party scene buzzing – from hardcore loyalists to casual observers. Some folks are hyped to see strict measures taken, while others are just rolling their eyes, thinking, “This drama is like a broken record.” Either way, if the NDC doesn’t sort out this mess, they’re gonna be known for letting bad behavior slide like it’s the latest dance craze. The assemblymen are laying it out straight: “Fix it, or else we’re all going down.” Read more
