QUICK BYTE
Abukari Seidu was just out here minding his business transporting yams on Dambai-Asukawkaw when highway robbers turned his trip into an action thriller. They shot him in the ribs and arm, but our guy kept it moving. With injuries that would send most of us crying for our mothers, Seidu drove himself to the nearest village. Once there, he did what any sensible Ghanaian would do: raise alarm. The police arrived… fashionably late. By then, the robbers had ghosted into the bush. Meanwhile, Seidu got patched up at Dambai Health Centre, but the nurses hit him with the “Sorry oo, bullets dey inside. Go Accra” move. Now, Seidu’s heading to Accra for “Operation Bullet Removal.” Read more
There’s a quiet farming community, where the loudest drama is usually the neighbor’s goat misbehaving. Then enter Yaw Nimoah, a 26-year-old farmer who took "family feuds" to a whole new—and horrifying—level. So, guess who’s back in the Speaker’s chair? Alban Bagbin! The man’s basically the G.O.A.T. of parliamentary leadership. DEEP DIVE
Where there’s no pistol, there’s a pestle
The community knew Yaw wasn’t exactly Ghana’s poster child for son of the year. He’d been arrested before for pulling a cutlass cameo on a neighbor but somehow, the matter disappeared like kenkey in a hungry man’s hands. Fast forward to this tragic morning in Yabram, where Yaw’s threats escalated into a crime scene straight out of a horror film.
When the Assembly member, Philip Kwadwo Bidaba, got a frantic call from a neighbor, Yaw was screaming for help, claiming someone had attacked his mum. But oh, the twist! Turns out Yaw’s “someone” was none other than Yaw himself, allegedly wielding a pestle. On arrival, the scene was as grim as it gets—Salomey lay lifeless on a mat, her head smashed.
Now Yaw is chilling in the Dambai police custody while the investigators piece together how it really went down. Read more
