Who works for 9 months without pay?
Chale, NABCO employees!
DEEP DIVE
Everyone and their mama knows the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) was supposed to be the ticket to economic stability, but trainees are left hanging with salaries unpaid for 9 months.
That’s why many NABCo trainees hit the streets demanding their overdue salaries.
Imagine you wake up every day and go to work tirelessly, yet needing to prove you deserve your earned money. This is a real test of patience and perseverance.
Finance Ministry’s Bombshell Response
Anyway, NABCo people said pay us all our hard-earned money ah, the Finance Ministry said, “Not our department, people. Take it up with the big boss.”
Yup, Finance Ministry responded to the trainees' petition by directing them to the Office of the President.
The Ministry is saying, since NABCo is under the President's jurisdiction, any issues must be resolved through his office. Talk about passing the buck! They did mention that trainees should submit any additional documents to back their claims for payment. Once these documents are validated, the payments will be processed.
So, what's next for our aggrieved NABCo trainees?
They need to gather every shred of paperwork and head to the Presidential Office. But will this really solve their problems? The Finance Ministry insists on proper channels and procedural steps, but for the trainees, it’s another delay in an already excruciating wait. Read more
Ablakwa’s GH¢5.3m Bombshell – Lands Ministry Fires Back 🔥
North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa recently shook the table, claiming that the government owes GH¢5.3 million in compensation to the Bulgarian Embassy. He alleged that this hefty sum was for the 2017 demolition of the embassy. But hold up – the Lands Ministry says, “Not so fast!”
Ministry’s Clapback
In a statement hotter than khebab pepper, the Lands Ministry flatly refuted Ablakwa's claims, calling them baseless and misleading. According to them, there's no financial obligation to the Bulgarian Embassy. Nada. Zilch. Zero.
The Real Story?
Ablakwa's argument was that the Land Valuation Division had determined this compensation figure last year. He even suggested the amount could rise due to cedi depreciation. But the Ministry isn't buying it. They clarified that any compensation is actually owed by Jojo Hagan, the person who ordered the demolition.
The Ministry emphasized that Ghana handles diplomatic issues through the proper legal channels and adheres to international standards. They’re all about transparency and accuracy in diplomatic affairs, making sure misinformation doesn’t spread. Read more
Microsoft Meltdown causes a Worldwide Digital Disaster
You're about to board your flight, access your bank account, or trade on the stock exchange, and bam! Everything's at a standstill. That’s the kind of chaos that unfolded on Friday, thanks to a massive tech glitch from Microsoft’s online services rippling around the globe.
Microsoft’s Major Malfunction
The chaos kicked off late Thursday in the US. Microsoft’s Azure and 365 services went kaput, grounding flights and halting operations for countless corporations. Denver-based Frontier Airlines was grounded for over two hours. Passengers in airports from Mumbai to Narita had to check in manually. Seriously, it was like going back to the 90s!
Banks, Airlines, and Stock Exchanges Hit Hard
Banks, airlines, and even the London Stock Exchange (LSE) weren’t spared. McDonald’s Corp., United Airlines Holdings Inc., and the LSE Group reported major issues. KLM had to suspend most flights due to a global computer outage. Even AGL Energy Ltd. in Australia blamed CrowdStrike software for their system woes.
What’s Next?
Microsoft’s still working on getting everything back to normal. Microsoft’s spokesperson chimed in, saying, “We’re still working on fixing the affected Microsoft 365 apps and services. Hang tight!”. The LSE faced a global technical issue preventing news publication, and in Asia, Japanese users reported glitches with Microsoft 365. The situation has everyone questioning the strength of our global digital infrastructure and how to better prepare for such tech hiccups. Read more
